Second gentleman Doug Emhoff made a spirited appearance in Broward County on Wednesday, rallying support for Vice President Kamala Harris and energizing Democrats ahead of the upcoming elections. At a Get Out the Early Vote event in Hallandale Beach, a Democratic stronghold in the county, he declared, "We can win Florida. We should win Florida!" Despite Florida's shift toward Republican dominance since the contentious 2000 presidential election, Emhoff is optimistic. Emhoff's visit is particularly significant as Democrats hope to gain ground in the tight Senate race between incumbent Republican Rick Scott and his Democratic challenger, former representative Debbie Mucarsel-Powell. Women's healthcare rights and Amendment 4, which aims to overturn Florida's strict six-week abortion ban, dominated the speech, with Emhoff condemning Trump as a threat to women's rights. He stated, “Make no mistake, Donald Trump is no friend to women. He has proven himself to be a threat to women,” His comments sparked chants of "Yes on 4!" Senate candidate Mucarsel-Powell echoed the same sentiments, emphasizing her commitment to protecting healthcare and reproductive freedoms. Following his Hallandale Beach address, Emhoff continued his campaign efforts with a rally in Miami, targeting Florida's diverse and crucial Hispanic community. His visit to Florida just a few days before the election shows the importance the state holds for the Democratic party’s win. #Queer Up South Florida & Florida
