Much has been said about mental health among LGBTQ+ young people. Suicidal ideation and anxieties related to anti-LGBTQ+ legislation have intensified, making this a particularly challenging period for the well-being of queer and trans youth. The Trevor Project, a nonprofit organization, recently conducted a survey shedding light on the mental health of LGBTQ+ youth. The Survey focused on the perceptions of 13-to-24-year-old LGBTQ+ individuals regarding their life expectancies and purposes. Key findings from the survey indicated that 58% of respondents believed they were likely to live to the age of 35, while 34% expressed lower expectations. Notably, 59% of younger participants (13 to 17 years old) felt confident about reaching 35, compared to 73% of their older counterparts. #Students & Youth Culture
