Queer News Tonight reported earlier this week on a directive from the National Park Service stating that "requests from employees asking to participate in uniform in a variety of events and activities, including events not organized by the NPS" breached official policy. Following significant backlash from LGBTQ+ groups, including Environmentalist drag queen Pattie Gonia, Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland issued an email to NPS employees reversing the decision. After the reversal, Pattie Gonia issued a statement reading "Thank you to every single person, news publication and especially LGBTQ+ park employee who fought so hard.
