BGW Elevate Magazine Launches As Historic Black Gay Wedding Publication

BGW Elevate Magazine is a history-making publication created by Lawrence and Michael Broughton, two Black gay newlyweds from Los Angeles. The married couple launched the magazine last winter; their second issue is due this summer. This magazine is rare because it features minority LGBTQ+ couples, which have never gotten their own day on the bookshelves. BGW Elevate Magazine’s inspiration came from the couple’s popular social media page called Black Gay Weddings, which shows stunning images of gay, lesbian, non-binary, and trans couples of color tying the knot around the world. To date, they’ve sold 178 copies and say they need to sell at least 1,000 copies to produce a third issue. #Queer Up Gay Culture
