A Colorado children’s hospital has stopped offering transition-related operations for transgender patients 18 and older. The hospital said it never provided such surgery for minors. Rachael Fowler, a spokesperson for Children’s Hospital Colorado has confirmed it. Fowler added that the hospital is working with patients to refer them to other facilities that still provide such procedures. Children’s Hospital Colorado, through its TRUE Center for Gender Diversity, will continue to provide nonsurgical gender-affirming care for both minors and patients who have recently turned 18. Such care includes hormone therapy, gender counseling, and nutrition services, according to the center’s website. #Queer Up Health
