Dozens Of Florida Drivers License Offices Have Trans 'Die In' Protests With Bodies And Tombstones

Transgender activists across Florida staged "die-in" protests at various DMV locations, donning transgender flags and orange vests. They laid down in lobbies and offices as a symbolic opposition to Gov. Ron DeSantis' decision to criminalize gender changes on licenses. Prism, Youth Action Fund, Equality Florida, GLSEN Central Florida, and other organizations conducted the initiative, featuring activists holding cardboard headstones blaming DeSantis and the DMV. Coinciding with the protests, an email campaign urged President Joe Biden's intervention under the Real ID Act. Over 650 emails were sent to the U.S. Justice Department and White House. Demonstrations unfolded across Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, Tallahassee, and Gainesville.
