Drag Race legends Jinkx Monsoon, Alaska Thunderf*ck, Monét X Change, Miss Peppermint, and BenDeLaCreme are taking the stage in Chicago next week for a vibrant and political event. The queens are joining forces with local star Lucy Stoole to host “Drag Night Chicago: A Voter Registration Kiki” on Wednesday, coinciding with Kamala Harris' official Democratic National Convention nomination. The event will also feature local drag performers Detox, Willam, Bambi Banks-Couleé, Sheeza Woman, Sativa Diamond, and Dusty Bahls. This celebration marks the debut of Drag PAC, launched on June 28 to mobilize the LGBTQ community and allies, aiming to increase Democratic voter registration and turnout for the 2024 elections. BenDeLaCreme said, “We as queer people have to recognize that we are part of a community.” Miss Peppermint added, saying, “It’s our job to keep things moving in the right direction. How you vote matters, and it literally defines the future of not just the country but your cities, your communities, and your people.” In the face of recent anti-LGBTQ legislation, Drag PAC’s mission is more crucial than ever. Jinkx Monsoon urged followers to “fight fiction with fact,” stressing the importance of voting against misinformation and bigotry. #Queer Up Drag Culture
