Emmy-Winning Billy Porter Claims He Lives Paycheck To Paycheck, Forced To Sell Extravagant Home Due To Writer's Strike

Billy Porter has revealed the ongoing writers' and actors' strikes have forced him to make some tough decisions surrounding his finances — which includes giving up his home in Long Island. Speaking to the Evening Standard, the Pose star admitted that he had to sell his house after revealing uncertainties around new gigs and work. He purchased the lavish property in October 2020 for an eyewatering $1.4 Million with his estranged husband Adam Smith, who he split from in July 2023. However, the beautiful house has now almost doubled in price as it is reported that it is now worth an estimated $2.3 Million. The family home, which was built in 1970, boasts a whopping 4,500 square feet with four bedrooms and five bathrooms. The Cinderella star told Condé Nast Traveller in 2021 that his humble abode sits on one acre of land and is the first home he has ever owned. Billy said that he is still living check-to-check, after having not made that kind of money “yet”. The former Broadway star also noted that he was supposed to work in an upcoming movie and a TV show in September, but unfortunately “none of that is happening” now. #Queer Up Entertainment
