Founder of Casa Ruby, a Non Profit For Trans in D.C., Pleads Guilty to Wire Fraud

Ruby Corado, founder of Casa Ruby, an LGBTQ+ housing organization for trans people and people of color in D.C., has pled guilty to wire fraud. Corado admitted to diverting $150,000 of pandemic relief funds to personal accounts in El Salvador. Casa Ruby shut down after losing an $839,460 grant from the D.C. Department of Human Services. Corado resigned in October 2022 and fled to El Salvador. However, Corado was arrested by the FBI in March 2024. #Queer Up Courts
