In a controversial Instagram post, the Log Cabin Republicans (LCR) of Colorado faced criticism for comparing President Joe Biden to Adolf Hitler and suggesting that Biden would harm conservatives if reelected. The now-deleted meme juxtaposed images of Biden and Hitler, falsely attributing a quote to Biden about MAGA voters. The em showed Biden saying, “MAGA voters are the cause of our problem.” Simultaneously, the meme implicated Hitler had similar views about Jews. It showed Hitler saying “The JEWS are the cause of our problems.” And this comparison has created controversy. The thing to note here is, the LCR's executive director is Valdamar Archuleta who is running for Congress in Colorado’s First Congressional District and he has a history of controversial statements. Archuleta has previously blamed LGBTQ+ individuals for a nightclub shooting in 2022 at Club Q. He has consecutively labeled queer community as "groomers." Even after facing backlash, Archuleta had the guts to defend his bigotry. While acknowledging the historical use of baseless accusations against the LGBTQ+ community, he suggested that the solution is for LGBTQ+ individuals to avoid interacting with children. The district, currently represented by Rep. Diana DeGette, tends to lean Democratic, with DeGette consistently winning by over 65% in past elections. The controversy adds to the scrutiny surrounding Archuleta's congressional candidacy. #Queer Up Politics
