Georgia State Representative Sam Park, a rising Democratic figure, is proving to be the polar opposite of the controversial U.S. Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene. Park, who was elected to office the same night Donald Trump won the presidency, has navigated a divided political landscape in Georgia with kindness, thoughtfulness, and teamwork. In a recent interview with LGBTQ Nation, Park was asked about Greene, who is perhaps Georgia’s most famous politician due to her staunch support for Trump and her penchant for conspiracy theories. When pressed to say something positive about Greene, Park responded, “Oh, that’s a tough question. I say, bless her heart. You know, she has the right to think what she wants. She’s entitled to her opinion, but not the facts.” As the first Korean-American and openly gay man elected to the Georgia State House, Park continues to champion values of inclusivity and reason, serving as a strong counterpoint to Greene’s often combative rhetoric. #Queer Up Politics
