GLAAD Study Shows Twitter Is Dangerous For LGBTQ+

Recent research by GLAAD found that Twitter was the most dangerous platform for LGBTQ+ people. The organization has released its third annual Social Media Safety Index. The 2023 report gave Twitter all low and failing scores. The GLAAD scorecard is based on 12 LGBTQ+ specific indicators, including things like policy commitments to protect LGBTQ+ users, the option to add pronouns to profiles, and prohibiting advertising content that could be harmful or discriminatory to LGBTQ+ people. Twitter saw a 12 point decrease from its 2022 score, down to 33. GLAAD singled out the company’s hateful conduct policy which no longer prohibits targeted deadnaming and misgendering, and that the company no longer publishes a diversity report disclosing data on its LGBTQ+ workforce. #Queer Up Business
