Guess Who The New Pope Is? At Least In Sister Act National Tour

There is a new Pope! Stay with us, and you will know! From February 3 to February 18, the Slow Burn Theatre Company is presenting the popular Broadway musical comedy Sister Act, at the Amaturo Theater in the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. This heartwarming show, based on the 1992 movie, tells the story of Deloris Van Cartier, a disco singer who witnesses a crime and is placed in protective custody in an unexpected location – a convent. Although Deloris initially feels out of place, she forms bonds with the nuns, leading to some unexpected changes in the convent. The musical features an enchanting score by Tony and Oscar winner Alan Menken and lyrics by Glenn Slater, blending Motown, soul, and disco music. Slow Burn Theatre Company's production of Sister Act is made possible through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International. But this new musical has something special to offer to the audience this time. There's a rumored special local LGBTQ+ guest star playing The Pope in the climactic final scene. Tickets start at $54.00, promising an entertaining and unforgettable experience. Support from the Broward County Cultural Division, Cultural Council, Broward County Board of County Commissioners, State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Arts and Culture, and the Florida Council on Arts and Culture has been instrumental in bringing this production to life.
