Stefanos Kasselakis is a 35-year-old entrepreneur and politician from Marousi, Greece. Over the years, he moved to the United States and earned bachelor's degrees in finance and international relations from the University of Pennsylvania. In 2008, Kasselakis also served as a volunteer for Joe Biden as a presidential candidate in the Democratic Party primary elections. Kasselakis is an out gay man. He’s been in a relationship with Tyler McBeth, who is American, since 2019. Now that he’s working in politics, Kasselakis has been calling for same-sex marriage to become legal in Greece. He was recently elected the president of Syriza, a left-wing political party in Greece. Syriza is the second-largest party in the Hellenic Parliament, with former chairman Alexis Tsipras serving as the Prime Minister of Greece between 2015 and 2019. Ultimately, this means that Kasselakis has a pretty good chance of becoming the Prime Minister of Greece now that he’s holding this position as president of Syriza. He has also promised to increase public spending on education and replace mandatory military service with a professional army. Being Greece’s first openly gay political party leader, Kasselakis also wants to tackle the taboo subject of same-sex couples having children. Kasselakis and his partner have announced their plan to become parents through surrogacy. #Queer Up The World View
