It's Final As Uganda's Highest Court Uphold's 'Crucifixion Kill The Gays' Law

The Constitutional Court of Uganda has upheld the controversial "Kill the Gays" law, which imposes severe penalties for consensual same-sex relations. While refusing to annul or suspend the law, the court acknowledged its inconsistency with rights to health, privacy, and freedom of religion. In a unanimous decision spanning 200 pages, the five-member court responded to a petition filed by two law professors from Makerere University in Kampala to challenge the Anti-Homosexuality Act 2023. Besides penalizing homosexuality, the law also imposes a 20-year prison term for individuals and groups found "promoting" homosexuality in Uganda. The court commenced the hearings for this case last December. #Queer Up The World View
