New research confirms that regular use of erectile dysfunction (ED) medication, particularly Viagra, may lower the risk of developing Alzheimer's Disease. The exact reason for this effect is unclear, but it's speculated that these drugs improve blood flow to the brain. Published in Neurology, the study examined the health records of 269,725 men in the UK aged over 40. Those with ED between 2007 and 2017 were prescribed sildenafil (Viagra) or tadalafil (Cialis). Five years later, those who took ED medication regularly were 20% less likely to develop Alzheimer's symptoms. The effect was more pronounced with higher usage of Viagra. The author of the study, Ruth Brauer, said that more research will help confirm these findings. #Queer Up Health
