She actually ended 2023 by supporting a gay couple who got married at her Las Vegas residency show Chemistry: An Intimate Evening on New Years Eve. The Emmy and Grammy-winning singer and TV host stopped her show to speak with a couple in the crowd. The couple, Brian and Marcello, explained that they have been together for about 15 years and wanted to get married during her concert. They also brought a man to officiate the marriage. Clarkson then handed the mic to the man who officiated the wedding saying “By the power of Kelly Clarkson’s show, Las Vegas, New Year’s 2024, I pronounce you both husband and husband.” Clarkson congratulated the couple before returning to the stage, while the crowd cheered.
