La Brea Tar Pits will host its first-ever Queer Family Day this month on Friday, 13 from 3 pm to 8 pm. This event is being billed as a frightfully fun day filled with festivities, fun, educating, and welcoming events for the whole family. Queer family day will give attendees a chance to enjoy drag story time hosted by Pickle—the current Drag Laureate for the City of West Hollywood. Attendees can strut their Halloween best in a costume contest alongside saber-toothed cat, test their knowledge of queer history in a round of pub-style trivia, and meet real scientists. During the Community Resource Fair, representatives from non-profit organizations such as Extraordinary Families, Gender Justice L.A., Translounge, and more will be on-site to share more about the important resources that they offer the LGBTQ+ community. The party is included in the price of museum admission and free for both Members and Community Partners. The La Brea Tar Pits is an active paleontological research site in urban Los Angeles. #Queer Up Drag Culture
