Let's Look At The Top LGBTQ+ Stories Of 2023

Queer News Tonight has always shed light on the important happenings in the life of the LGBTQ+ community across the world. This year we have brought you more than 2000 television stories. Our struggles are common and our happiness is connected. Hence, we thought of revisiting the best moments of this year, while we are about to say goodbye to 2023. The most underrated gem of the year has to be Veronica Esposito’s foray into AI-faked yearbook photos, allowing her to imagine the girlhood she’d always longed for. The most terrifying news of the year has to be the U.S.-based ‘hate group’ Alliance Defending Freedom using a shadowy network of lawyers and doctors to infiltrate Canada. The best video on TikTok this year was of Queer Eye fame Jonathan Van Ness having a frank conversation with Dax Shepard about dispelling anti-trans misinformation, and they called out Shepard for participating in it. The best use of the rainbow metaphor has to be Jeremy Dutcher describing his understanding of intersecting queer identities to Riley Yesno. Adding to the list, we think the best moment for the community across the world was when Pope Francis approved blessings for same-sex couples. There is a tie for the best hypocritical moment of the year. The one was Kid Rock drinking Bud Light and serving it in his restaurant after opposing it first for signing a trans-TikTok star Dylan Mulvaney. The second contender for the title is Moms of Liberty Co-founder Bridget Ziegler flunking her own so-called Morality Test. And how can we forget this year’s queerest award ceremony, The Grammy Awards? As for South Florida, the year has been a roller coaster ride of both joyous and heartbreaking news, as SMARTRide, the 2nd largest AIDS bicycle ride in the country, concludes its final journey in November, after two decades. While, on the other hand, the queer community has rolled its sleeves to fight hatred and discrimination like never before by organizing LGBTQ+ events, art shows, and street arts like Adora Vanessa Athena Fantasia in Miami Beach. Next week Queer News Tonight will bring you the 25 most watched stories we broadcast in 2023. We call the special 25 in 23. And it is substantial as more than 500,000 have subscribed to Happening Out Television Network on the streaming networks of Roku, Apple TV, Android TV and Amazon Fire TV. And more than 10 million views of our 2023 stories was a record watch on YouTube. And Queer News Tonight promises to support our LGBTQ+ community by bringing your stories to the world in 2024. #Queer Up The USA View
