LGBTQ+ Protestors Cover This State Capitol In Thousands Of Paper Hearts To Send Love, Not Hate

Activists in Idaho made a bold statement against anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric by dropping over 48,000 colorful paper hearts at the state capitol. Each heart symbolized an LGBTQ+ individual in Idaho, covering the rotunda floor. ACLU Idaho initiated the campaign in early March, urging people to send hearts in protest. Within 12 days, they received an overwhelming response from 20 cities, including Coeur d'Alene and Pocatello. Many of these hearts had messages on them, like “Stop The Hate” and “I am Trans And I vote.” However, while the paper hearts were being dropped to show solidarity against the hateful laws, the House deliberated over two new anti-trans bills. #Queer Up Politics
