Man Who Punched RuPaul's Drag Race Star At McDonalds Convicted Of Homophobic Hate Crime

A court has ruled that an attack on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star The Vivienne was motivated by homophobia. Alan Whitfield, 51, had previously admitted assault after physically assaulting the winner of the first Drag Race UK, James Lee Williams, but denied that it was motivated by homophobia. Whitfield asked The Vivienne “What have you come as, an Oompa Loompa?” before punching the 31-year-old in the face at a McDonald’s fast food restaurant in Liverpool, England in June when The Vivienne returned Whitfield’s barrage of abuse by mentioning Whitfield’s face scar. #Queer Up Gay Culture
