New Study Confirms That Only 1% of Trans Teens Detransition

A recent study challenges misconceptions about detransitioning among transgender youth. Published in JAMA Pediatrics, the study reveals that only 1% of trans teens reverted to their birth-assigned gender after receiving medical care. Out of 552 young individuals referred, 29 (5.3%) identified with their birth sex, primarily during initial assessments. Merely two patients (1.0%) detransitioned post-starting puberty blockers or hormone therapy. The researchers noted that they couldn't determine the motivations behind most of the young individuals reverting to their assigned sex at birth. As a result, it is unclear whether the reason for detransitioning is regret, societal pressures, or family influence. #Trans Rights
