When Wilton Social Club opened in August of 2023, owner Dom Santarelli chose Oakland Park for its proximity to Wilton Manors and cheaper rents. Opening a Men’s Sauna required months of permits and dealing with the city to make sure everything was legal and up to code. That’s why Dom and his manager Kevin were shocked when on May 9th, the city ordered them closed. They cited the adult videos playing in the venue as the reason. Other business owners such as Christian Perez, owner of Island City Massage, have shown support on social media, claiming Oakland Park had used vague citations to close them down as well, forcing them to move into Wilton Manors. #Queer Up South Florida & Florida
