An award-winning gay journalist and former city employee Josh Kruger was shot dead outside his Point Breeze residence in Philadelphia around 1:30 a.m. Kruger’s bullet-riddled body was discovered outside his row home on October 2, after an unknown person entered his residence and shot him multiple times. According to Police, Kruger was shot seven times in the chest and abdomen. He was transported to Penn Presbyterian Hospital by medics, where he was pronounced dead at 2:13 a.m. No weapons were recovered at this time. The shooter fled the scene and Kruger ran outside, apparently seeking help from neighbors, before he collapsed in the street.
