Delaware conservative activist and QAnon supporter Lauren Witzke posted an image on Twitter that repeats the smooshed-together words PRIDEMONTH in a column until letters fade to highlight DEMON in the middle with the rainbow colors. Witzke, a former Senate candidate, went on to liken the LGBTQ+ community to DEMONS and appealed to her followers to unite against Pride Month, which started on June 1. The “DEMON” meme almost immediately went viral, with over 13,000 quote tweets, most of them being from LGBTQ+ people clowning on it. In a beautifully ironic moment, however, it turns out that Witzke inadvertently directed attention to trans artist Veya who originally created the graphic. Veya has since released the graphic for purchase on T-shirts — with text in rainbow as well as other Pride variations such as pansexual, trans, and intersex flag color schemes — for less than $20. #Queer Up Gay Culture
