Say Goodbye To Ellen DeGeneres As She Announces Her Retirement From Show Biz

Lesbian comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres announced at her farewell tour, “Ellen’s Last Stand…Up,” that she will be retiring from show business after her upcoming Netflix special. During her performance at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa on Monday evening, an audience member asked, “Will we see you on Broadway or movies?” DeGeneres replied, “Um, no. This is the last time you’re going to see me. After my Netflix special, I’m done,” The SF Gate reported. Referring to rumors of a toxic workplace on her long-running daytime talk show, which led to her departure in May 2022, DeGeneres said, “I got kicked out of show business for being mean.” She added, “I used to say, ‘I don’t care what people say about me.’ Now I realize I said that during the height of my popularity... I am many things, but I am not mean.” DeGeneres, who aired the final episode of her daytime talk show, Ellen, on May 26, 2022, after nearly 20 years, expressed pride in her accomplishments, hoping she had inspired others to be their true, authentic selves. #Queer Up Entertainment
