Sign Of Hope? 21 Anti-LGBTQ+ Bills Die As 2024 Florida Session Ends

In a significant victory for LGBTQ+ rights, the Florida Legislature adjourned sine die, effectively killing 21 of 22 anti-LGBTQ+ bills proposed during the session. The sole piece of legislation to pass was an anti-diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in education bill. This session saw some of the most severe bills targeting transgender individuals, all of which are now officially dead. LGBTQ+ activists now have the rest of 2024 to regroup, with hopes pinned on the November general election. For now, the LGBTQ+ community of Florida is relieved to see that H599, a bill to expand "Don't Say Gay" policies to the workplace, is one among those that failed. #Queer Up Politics
