The South Florida Pride Concert Band will present "An Evening with Lea DeLaria" on November 9, 2024, at the Amaturo Theater in The Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are already on sale with prizes starting at $45. Lea DeLaria, best known for her role as Big Boo on Orange Is the New Black, will showcase her talents as a jazz vocalist, comedian, and actress, accompanied by the South Florida Concert and Jazz Bands. The performance will also feature a special set from the South Florida Pride Steel Band during intermission. Dan Bassett, the artistic director of the South Florida Pride Concert Band, said, “We are very excited to have a talent the caliber of Ms. DeLaria sharing the stage with our concert and jazz bands. Our audience is in for a real treat.” DeLaria's career spans decades, with performances at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. Her sixth album, House Of David delaria+bowie=jazz, has garnered critical acclaim. This performance is intended for mature audiences with adult humor and language.
