Transgender Rights Gets It's Big Day In Court On May 14

An important Wyoming legal dispute of wide-ranging consequences will converge for hearings at the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver on May 14. The dispute is regarding a transgender woman's sorority membership at the University of Wyoming. Influential anti-transgender activists and organizations, supported by a frenzied, have focused on this UW sorority case. Six Kappa Kappa Gamma members at the UW sued the sorority after admitting its first openly transgender woman, Artemis Langford. U.S. District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson dismissed the case in August 2023. The plaintiffs announced they'd appeal, hiring high-profile attorneys. In October, the appeals court ordered both parties to file briefs.
