As Olympic boxer Imane Khelif advances to the semi-final round at the Paris Olympics, she faces a barrage of false accusations regarding her gender. Khelif, a cisgender woman, has been targeted by a discrediting campaign, including comments from J.K. Rowling, Joe Rogan, Elon Musk and now Donald Trump. Despite her father presenting her birth certificate, these personalities have claimed without evidence that she is a trans woman or a cis man posing as a woman. In a heartfelt statement to SNTV, Khelif urged the world to uphold Olympic principles and stop bullying athletes. She expressed concerns for her family's well-being amid the controversy, saying, " It can divide people. And because of that, I ask them to refrain from bullying." She hopes to win a gold medal and believes it can be the best response to her detractors. However, the Republican candidate for the 2024 Presidential election, Donald Trump, has decided to continue bullying. While at an Atlanta rally, trump stated that Khelif had "transitioned," referring to an incident where Italian boxer Angela Carini quit a match with Khelif. Carini, who later expressed sadness over the controversy, clarified that her decision was not a political statement. Olympic officials, on the other hand, confirm that Khelif meets eligibility requirements, debunking every claim of her ineligibility. #Queer Up Sports
