Ujima Men's Collective Honors Juneteenth With Two LGBTQ+ Events

The Ujima Men’s Collective is collaborating with entities like the TransInclusive Group, and Legacy Builders to produce two Juneteenth events. These events will be presented on June 19, to educate the community about the importance of Juneteenth and its origin and significance today. The organizers hope to raise $3000 through these events and the funds generated will be equally divided between the two events. The first event, Juneteenth at Mills Pond Park, will consist of a series of competitions including a grill-off, card games, board games, and recognition of the best of the best. The second event, Juneteenth Liberation Thru the Arts at YMCA/Mizell Community Center, will consist of entertainers, speakers (including It's Happening Out host Elimination), musicians, poetry, dancers, and an education component specific to educating the community about Juneteenth. The events will also offer opportunities to pursue HIV testing, HIV education, and information about where to receive HIV-related services. #Queer Up South Florida & Florida
