The organiser of an unauthorised gay pride rally in Moscow, Nikolai Alexeyev, was jailed for 10 days, along with activists Yevgeny Gerasimov and Vadim Gruzdev, for disobeying police. Alexeyev was detained during a brief protest outside the Moscow mayor's office, where he rode past the mayor's office on a quad bike adorned with a rainbow flag and an orange smoke flare. The rally was also countered by 30 nationalists who hurled eggs and attacked the activists. The mayor's office had denied permission for the rally, and a court also rejected the appeal. Alexeyev then Tweeted, saying, "The court hearing was a farce!" #Queer Up The World View
