Wimbledon 2023 is officially underway and there are a handful of out gay players offering some vital rainbow LGBTQ+ representation at tennis’s most prestigious tournament. Since the days of gay champions Billie Jean King and Martina Navratilova, women’s tennis has long provided some of the biggest LGBTQ+ names in sport – and there are currently several players Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) tour carrying that torch for a new generation. However, sadly there are currently no out gay players on the men’s tour. The LGBTQ+ players competing in this year’s Wimbledon include Russia’s Daria Kasatkina, Argentina’s Nadia Podoroska, and Belgium’s Greet Minnen. #Queer Up Sports
