Youth Activists Release Thousands Of Crickets To Disrupt JK Rowling's Anti-Trans Conference

On Friday, youth activists disrupted the LGB Alliance’s conference in the UK by releasing over 6,000 crickets. The conference began with J.K Rowling criticizing the idea of trans women being lesbians. The bugs were unleashed during a speech by anti-trans advocate Jamie Reed on transgender healthcare. Trans Kids Deserve Better, a youth-led advocacy group, claimed responsibility for the action. Journalist Michael Baggs posted a video showing the crickets infesting the conference hall. While police were called, no arrests were made. The protesters were escorted out of the event. Trans Kids Deserve Better has been making headlines recently. The group's message continues to challenge anti-trans rhetoric in the UK. #Trans Rights
